Meet the friendly staff at Hometown Veterinary Hospital!

  • Dr.
    Sue Williams

    Dr. Williams joined the Hometown family in 2013 and purchased the practice in 2015. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Management from The Ohio State University in 2005 and her Doctor in Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2009. Before Dr. Williams was hired by Dr. Amy Keith Renshaw in 2013, she spent 2 years working in central Pennsylvania in a mixed animal practice and 1 year in Ohio practicing emergency medicine. Dr. Williams says, “The staff and clients are wonderful and friendly at Hometown. The staff provides excellent care for the patients. It is a family friendly environment.” She and her husband, Ray, have 2 young sons. The also have Avery, a lab who enjoys playing with the family’s cats; Stewie, and Bubba Sprinkles. In her spare time, Dr. Williams enjoys swimming, triathlons and spending time with family.

    Ivy Hummel-Bodak

    Dr. Ivanna Hummel-Bodak graduated magna cum laude from Allegheny College with a B.S. in biology in 1998 and from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Before coming to Hometown Veterinary Hospital, she has traveled and worked in clinics in both Pennsylvania and Arizona. Her main goals are to provide the best patient care available and foster... the human-animal bond while keeping a personalized experience at the center of every appointment. She has special interests in internal medicine, dermatology, and ophthalmology and is working towards the American Association of Feline Practitioner's feline friendly commendation. She and her husband Michael have a 'gentleman's farm' where they have a brood of four dogs, four cats, and nine chickens. This takes up a great deal of her free time, but she also tries to find time for gardening and preserving in the summer and brewing a variety of beers in the winter.

  • Jamie P.

    Jamie, our Practice Manager, plays an important part of all aspects of the practice. Jamie began her career at Hometown in 2009 as a receptionist after graduating from Penn State, the Behrend College with a major in Business Management and a minor in Marketing. She was promoted to Practice Manager in 2011. Jamie and her husband, Nick, are from North East and they continue to reside here with their sons; Collin and Campbell, daughter; Ava, chocolate lab; Charlie, and goldendoodle; Nora. Jamie says, “I love that our staff is like a family. We are a close-knit group and that makes coming to work enjoyable. I also like that I get to work on the business side of things, but still get to interact with our clients and their pets.” On her time away from work, Jamie enjoys spending time with her family, running, and crafting.

  • Jeana
    Jeana has been here since Hometown’s doors opened in 2008. Jeana says, “Hometown is my home away from home. I love the staff and clients. They are like family to me.” Jeana and her husband, Patrick, enjoy attending comic conventions and collecting super hero memorabilia. Jeana enjoys baking and spending quality time with her children, Miah and Donovan. Her family enjoys the company of Steve, the cat, Hammy their rescued pit bull mix, their 30 year old turtles and 2 parakeets. Jeana attended Great Lakes Institute of Technology. As well as being a part of the veterinary technician team, she is also a part of our front desk team.
  • Rachael
    Rachael has been a part of our veterinary technician team since 2008. Prior to coming to Hometown, Rachael received her education at Hocking College in Ohio for Wildlife Management and Great Lakes Institute of Technology. Rachael decided to go into this field because she likes the challenge of helping animals as they can’t tell us what is wrong with them. “There is never a dull moment at Hometown,” says Rachael, “I enjoy the family-like relationships we have with our clients.” She and her husband, Marty, live in North East with their daughters, Avery and Elsie. They have 4 rescue pets, including their beloved doxie, Buddy, who has Intervertebral Disc Disease, which has left him disabled and in a wheelchair. In her spare time, Rachael enjoys kayaking, archery, fishing and taking walks with her family.
  • Roxanne
    Roxanne is a part of our veterinary technician team. After Roxanne recused her husky, Niko, and spent many hours at the vet hospital with him, she returned to school to become a veterinary assistant. Roxanne received her education at Great Lakes Institute of Technology and has been with us since 2009. Roxanne says, “The staff is awesome and we all work well together. Spending the days helping and caring for the pets is the best part.” She and her husband, Rob, have a daughter, Amanda, and 7 rescue dogs and many, many rescue cats. In her spare time, Roxanne enjoys spoiling her grandchildren, gardening, spending time with her family and raising her chickens.
  • Jaime F.
    Jaime F. Jaime grew up in North East and has been working at Hometown since 2010 on our veterinary technician team. She received her education from Great Lakes Institute of Technology. She and her husband, Brian, have a son, Marshall, and 2 dogs; Pearl and Parker. Jaime enjoys cooking and she loves to shop. “The office atmosphere at Hometown is what I enjoy most about working here. We are a family,” says Jaime.
  • Megan
    Megan is a part of our front desk team at Hometown. She has been working here since 2013 and she loves everything about her job. Megan and her husband, Dan, have a son, Harrison. Together they love fishing, camping, hiking, and being outdoors with their rescue dog, Zoey. Pandora and Marceline, Megan’s cats, hang out with her when she is painting and crafting. Megan has an associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from Mercyhurst College.
  • Kelsey
    Kelsey joined us in 2010 and is part of our front desk team. She likes the family atmosphere Hometown offers. Kelsey Says, “We all care about each other, our families and pets. I also like to see and get to know owners and their furry children. I can watch them grow.” Kelsey and her husband, Leroy, were both born and raised in North East and now they are starting to raise their family here. The Learns are parents to Lukas, and Kaleb. Besides her husband and sons, Kelsey’s other loves are her 8 dogs. Buster, Bailey, Nikki, Chewy, Klondike, Kenzie and Kovu are all Huskies and Chance is an Alaskan Malamute. In her spare time, Kelsey enjoys soccer, reading and spending time with her family. Kelsey has an associate’s degree in Liberal Arts from Mercyhurst College.
  • Mekenzie

    Mekenzie joined the front desk team in 2015. Although she is currently a receptionist, she received her education from Great Lakes Institute of Technology where she studied to be a veterinary technician. Mekenzie says, “My favorite part about working at Hometown Vet is the clients and staff. We’re all one big family.” She enjoys reading, swimming and hiking. Mekenzie is mom to 3 cats; Luna, Cedric, and Meowth; and 5 dogs; Charlie and Harley who are both labs, Misty Lou a dachshund, Mushka, a Pekingese/poodle mix and Finnick, a pitbull.

  • Abbi
    Abbi completed her veterinary technician externship with us, through Great Lakes Institute of Technology, in spring of 2016. Immediately following graduation she joined our technician team! Abbi also has been a valuable part of our reception team. Some of her favorite things about working at Hometown Vet are, of course, the animals! Also the friendship and understanding between the staff, and the never-ending learning. Abbi is from the Erie area and she loves spoiling her dachshund, Sweet Pea, and enjoys fitness.
